Thank you for this, Emma & Max. As I read this striking critique, I kept picturing the story from the Gospel where Jesus bends down before the angry crowd, ready to stone the persecuted woman, and he traces his fingers in the dirt. He makes himself the lowest one among them, literally in the dirt, and then he rises up to disappoint all the angry men—and save the terrified woman. He used all his power and masculinity toward God’s purposes, and it brought truth and justice and freedom and forgiveness. Such a sharp contrast to what we see today that it cuts to the bone.

Eric Sammons is frightening and a Steubenville grad who is the editor of Crisis Magazine. The whole masculinity schtick is so widespread in the church.

I am also very concerned about young men "who may be led to believe that the true essence of manhood lies in dominance, aggression, and an exaggerated image of strength."

All of the masculinity warriors are interconnected. Crisis is under the umbrella of Sophia Press here in NH. The Diocese is hosting a Literature conference with Sophia and Thomas More College at my previous parish of 20 years, Ste Marie's.

Last year a priest in our diocese that was removed due to credible allegations of child sex abuse served in an unofficial but very prominent role at Thomas More. But the diocese did not disclose that when it listed where he served.

Maybe that sounds divergent from this article. But it is all a big web.

Ste Marie's has this listed on it's website: https://enterthenarrowgate.org/into-the-breach

Schmitz is in it. I am going to guess that Barron makes an appearance in the series.

It is unbelievable that Bishops align themselves with MAGA, a political cult.
